Find Hope in Christ

STEP 1: KNOWING GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE:

Know that GOD LOVES YOU!  The Word of God tells us in John 3:16, “God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” WOW! To show His love for you and I, He made the supreme sacrifice, offering up His one and only Son.

“Jesus came into the world so that we might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). God  wants us to experience peace and life—abundant and eternal. Romans 5:1 reads, “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

God also wants to have a personal and intimate relationship with you. In James 2:23 we read, “And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.” God wants you to know that you were created to be a friend of Gods. He wants to commune with you and walk with you though life.

So why is it that most people don’t have this peace and abundant life that God planned for us to have?

STEP 2: THE PROBLEM IS THAT SIN HAS SEPARATED US FROM GOD

God says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59: 2). Although God created you in His image, He has not made you a mechanical robot with no free will or choice in how you live. You choose to disobey God and go our own way. This results in separation from God.

Paul the apostle explained, “For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Each of us has a life that has been blemished by sin. And in Romans 6:23 we read: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Many are searching for the one true God and today many believe that all paths lead to God. The Bible states, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. (Pr 14:12) So then what is the answer to this abundant life and salvation?

STEP 3: GOD”S ANSWER – THE CROSS

“There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”(Acts 4:12). God provided for the forgiveness of our sins and the redemption of our lives through the death of Jesus, His perfect, sinless Son who rose triumph from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God the Father and man. “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ” (1Timothy 2:5) and in John 14:6 we read, “Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”

God provided the only way through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through His suffering, we can be cleansed, restored healed from our past and be made whole. He gives us the opportunity to accept the invitation to become reconciled with Him and gives us the right to become His children. Each person must make their own choice.

STEP 4: YOUR RESPONSE TO HIS PERSONAL INVITATION:

Now that you understand that Jesus Christ alone is the path to your relationship with God and eternal life, the next step is to make the decision to ask Him to take away your sin and to come into your heart to be your personal Lord and Savior. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me”(Revelation 3:20). Jesus loves you so much that He knocks at the door of your heart and waits patiently for you to respond.

I don’t know what your life may be like today. You may be struggling to find the answers to life’s question marks or find that you are searching for God and the purpose for your life. Know that from the very beginning, God created you so that you would seek after Him. He doesn’t want you to grope around in the dark: lost and confused. He is not remote: He’s near. All you have to do is trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation. “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”(Romans 10:9).  If you would like to ask Jesus into your heart, you can pray this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you have said this prayer, inviting Jesus into your life, God’s Word assures you that you have been received into His family and that you are now His child. Romans 10:13 tells us that, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. ” Congratulations on taking this all –important step.

STEP 5: –KEYS TO A VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIFE:

a. Read your Bible everyday to get to know Jesus Christ in a more personal and intimate way.

b. Talk to God in prayer every day.

(You may be saying, “I don’t know how to pray.” Let me assure you that praying is just talking to God. He longs for you to come to Him and share your heart.)
